Those who kneel before God should never be afraid to stand

A Little About Dr J

My life and work have taken me across many worlds, and each season has shaped the woman I am today. I have been blessed with experiences, accomplishments, and challenges that have carved a deep well of knowledge within me—far too expansive to limit only to the topics on my business page.

Over the years, patients, friends, colleagues, and even strangers have encouraged me to share more. I hear,
“Dr. J, you’ve lived enough for ten people—talk about it.”
So here I am, finally creating one place where all the pieces of my journey can live, breathe, and bless others.

A Multifaceted Life of Service, Leadership & Creativity

With over 30 years in healthcare, I have worked in nearly every corner of the medical field, including:

  • Emergency Medicine

  • Operating Room

  • Pre- and Post-Op Care

  • Medical-Surgical Nursing

  • Developmental Disabilities

  • Functional Medicine

  • Men’s and Women’s Health

  • And ultimately, owning and operating my own medical practice

I have also proudly served as:

  • A Clinical, Didactic, and Practicum Instructor for RN, BSN, NP, and Doctoral students

  • An Advisor to multiple nursing cohorts

  • A published author of books, manuscripts, and educational materials

  • A mentor to underserved students working toward degrees and professional success

Beyond Medicine

My gifts and interests extend far beyond healthcare.
I have embraced life as:

  • A real estate investor and builder, experienced in demolition, rehabilitation, and home design

  • An owner of an assisted living facility

  • A former beauty salon owner

  • A skilled home decorator, with talents ranging from tiling to interior styling
(Though, despite being married to a master plumber, plumbing and electrical work will never be my ministry!)

I’m not an expert in the stock market—but God knows I do well enough to smile.
And in the kitchen? I am an entertainer, hostess, and cook, with my new cookbook now being published.

A Heart for Mission, Humanity, and the Underserved

One of the greatest honors of my life has been serving:

  • Over 10,000 homeless men and women through more than a decade of community outreach

  • Underserved students who needed someone to believe in them

  • Communities in Jamaica, Mongolia, Honduras, and across the U.S. through medical missions

  • Local churches and organizations through speaking engagements, advocacy, and education

My deepest passions include raising awareness for:

  • Domestic Violence

  • Dementia

  • Faith-based healing and resilience

Faith at the Center

I am an avid world traveler, but no matter where I go, I remain anchored in one truth:
Everything I have accomplished is because of God’s grace, guidance, and goodness.
My belief in Him fuels my resilience, my generosity, and my willingness to speak truth—even when my honesty is direct, bold, or “verbose,” as some may lovingly say.

Everything I share comes from a place of respect, authenticity, and candor.
